Western Uganda Unique Attractions
This 6 days safari will take you to Western Uganda through some of the most dramatic and unique attractions and points of interests in Uganda.

For the first part of your safari to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest park in Uganda located conveniently along Kampala highway, you can enjoy Game drives, Hiking /Nature walks, Birding, Horseback, Sport Fishing on Lake Mburo and Launch cruise on the lake.

After Lake Mburo, you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park home of the rare and endangered mountain Gorillas. You will travel through one of the most beautiful and dramatic areas of Western Uganda often referred the “Switzerland of Africa “with cultivated High hills and low valleys. While in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park you will experience the Gorilla tracking activity, Nature walks, Birding, Village walks and a cultural Encounter with the Batwa (Pygimy) which we highly recommend to any guest visiting Bwindi not to miss as this is one of the most Unique and authentic cultural experience you will enjoy.

Complete your 6 days safari with overnight stay on Lake Bunyonyi at Heritage Lodge. This Lodge is located on an Island on the lake Bunyonyi with beautiful scenery and ambience for relaxing. Explore the Bakiga culture, Visit the Museum and enjoy Birding in this area . Later continue on your journey to reach Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight. Lunch in Kabale and our final stopover will be at the Equator for photography and informative talk before reaching Entebbe.

Day 1: Arrival
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will meet our representative who will transfer you for overnight at Entebbe Airport View Guest House (Budget) or Boma Hotel (Midrange) or Protea Hotel Entebbe (Classic). Meal Plan BB.

Day 2: Game drive and Boat cruise Lake Mburo National Park (Approximately 3 hrs drive)
Early morning (8.00am) you will transfer to Lake Mburo national Park located conveniently close along the high way that connects Kampala and the parks of western Uganda. This park is home to over 350 specias of birds as well as other wildlife like the zebras, impala, eland,oribi, buffalos,Hippo, hyenas and many more. We will arrive on time for a midmorning game drive before checking into our Hotel for Lunch. This park Offers Excellent Opportunity for you to enjoy, Game drive, Hiking and Nature walks, Birding, launch cruise, Horseback safaris and Sport fishing on Lake Mburo. Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After early breakfast, explore the gems of this park on a morning game drive before driving Southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the Area known as the “Switzerland of Africa” For half of the journey, the road is tarmac and the rest is well maintained all weather road( Murram). While on this route, you will enjoy the breathtaking scenery of cultivated high hills and low valleys for most part of your journey. You will arrive in Bwindi National Park on time Lunch at your lodge and afternoon (Optional): Nature walk to the water falls, community and hospital visit. Dinner and over night at your lodge Buhoma Community Bandas (Budget) or Silverback Lodge ( Midrange ) or Mahogany Springs ( Classic).

Day 4: Magical Encounter with the famous Mountain Gorillas
Early morning breakfast before transfer to the park headquarters for briefing. We will enter in to the Gorilla sanctuary with our guides and rangers at 8.00am after briefing. It is a physically demanding activity and requires that you are in a fair shape. Approximate time of trekking is 1-6 hours and includes climbs of up to 7,500 feet. Terrain is rough and sometimes muddy. You will carry packed lunch, drinking water not forgetting your rain jacket and jungle boots. The Park rangers will provide you with a walking stick. On finding the Gorillas, you will spend one hour with these amazing primates. An encounter with an earth shaking 350 pound silver back or a baby gorilla is very exciting and never forgotten experience. Return to the lodge and in the evening enjoy cultural performance by the Batwa pigymy community who live in Bwindi Forest and get to know more about the Batwa culture and get briefing for the next day Batwa unforgettable experience. Day 5 : Batwa Experience
A project of the Batwa Development Program, this is a truly enriching and unforgettable experience, one that should not be missed by those visiting Bwindi. Led by Batwa elders, visitors to the Batwa Experience trek into the forest to see and experience the unique Batwa culture and their traditional lifestyle in the dense forest. Lasting about five to six hours, highlights include learning about medicinal herbs, traditional shelters, fire making, honey harvesting, burial rituals, and different types of snares. This cultural journey also includes storytelling, high-energy singing and dancing, scaling to a tiny tree house, visiting a rock shrine, and tagging along on a mock hunt for duikers. Guests also get a shot at a duiker, testing their shooting skills with a traditional wooden bow and arrow. No worries if you cannot hit the target, though, we will still let you eat a Batwa-cooked lunch of traditional foods such as goat, matoke, posho, groundnut sauce and fresh fruit. Often said to be the most authentic cultural experience our guests have ever had, the Experience is made by the friendliness, enthusiasm and pride of the Batwa elders, who actually started the Batwa Experience to educate their own children about their forest roots. Day 6: Morning Boat cruise on the Beautiful Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, enjoy one of the most extraordinary wildlife and birding experience by boat as you cross the Lake Bunyonyi. The forested green islands on the lake are home to differentspecies of endemic birds which the guide will help you to spot. Lunch in Kabale in the Kigezi region, the so called “Switzerland of Africa” characterized by terraced cultivated hills. The inhabitants are the Bakiga and you can visit the local Bakiga cultural museum. Continue on your journey to reach Entebbe for your evening departure flight.
